Moving inwards | Finding stillness

Hello, I’m Rachel, a yoga teacher and sound healer based in Sussex, UK. Before stepping into this work, I lived a very different life. From a young age, my world revolved around becoming a veterinarian: the work experience, the grades, the university applications, the long hours, the night shifts, the further qualifications, the pressure. It shaped every second of my life. Until it broke me.

After experiencing severe burnout where I barely slept, I would lie awake stressing about every decision I had made, and every word I had spoken to someone. I questioned everything. I began to struggle to eat. I cried everyday. A wonderful friend told me I needed help. I went to my GP. She saved my life.

I was signed off work for two months. When I returned, I knew something fundamental had shifted. I needed to understand who I was without the career that had defined me for so long. I left my permanent job, began locuming, with the intention of teaching yoga. I spent two months in Nepal practicing yoga every day while looking out at the Himalayas. It was a pivotal moment in my life.

For the first time, I felt what it meant to be on the right path. When I teach, something clicks into place. My cup fills. My heart softens. And I know that if even one person in the room feels supported, then I am exactly where I need to be. Yoga is healing.

With my background in veterinary medicine and an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from Oxford University, I now blend two worlds: the spiritual traditions of the East and the questioning mind of the West. I’m grounded in science, yet open to the mysteries that can’t always be measured. I believe that just because something hasn’t been proven, doesn’t mean it isn’t true.

So, it is with a continuously healing heart and soul, I welcome you to my classes, retreats, and therapies. If you want to understand the “how,” I’m always happy to explain. And if you'd rather release the mind and sink into the experience, I’m here for that too.

For those working in the veterinary profession, I also offer mentorship. Because I know what it’s like to walk that path, and you do not have to walk it alone.
